June 15, 2024 – 11 am to 3 pm

Blueridge Good Neighbour Day is an annual event (since 1998!) celebrating everything great about our little neighbourhood. With food and activities for everyone, it’s a great chance to get out and meet your neighbours.

Each year we pick a theme. This year it’s Fantasy!

Festivities kick off with a parade from the top of Berkley (at Hyannis Drive), ending at Blueridge Elementary School.

Most BGND activities are free and made possible by our generous donors and a silent auction. For those few items that do require payment – the concession, cotton candy, and the cakewalk – we’re introducing Blueridge Bucks. You’ll buy them at the BCA booth and use them where needed.

This year the activities list includes:

  • Parade
  • Live Music
  • Bouncy Castles, Wipe Out
  • Kids Crafts, Games, and Science
  • Petting Zoo
  • Face Painting
  • Train Rides
  • Pickleball
  • Skateboarding
  • Popcorn & Cotton Candy
  • Cakewalk
  • Pie Eating Contest
  • Food trucks
  • Beer Garden
  • Chess Tournament
  • Community and Business Tables
  • Silent Auction

BGND is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who work hard to create a fun-filled day for the whole family. If you’d like to help make this happen, we need you!

If you can help organize, please join our committee! We meet once a month. You can help out on one of the many very important jobs to make this community event happen! Contact us at bgnd@blueridgeca.org and we’ll get you connected.

If you’d rather help on the day for an hour or two, contact us at volunteer@blueridgeca.org. This includes the Parade, Youth Activities, Concessions and more. You can also help organise ahead of time with a few emails or calls! This would include the Silent Auction and Community Tables.

Every volunteer counts! No help is too small!

One of the big events at BGND is the silent auction, where visitors bid for great items donated by local businesses and residents. Each year the silent auction helps pay the expenses of running the event, and 2024 is no exception. Here are some examples:

Michele from Bosa Foods with the beautiful basket that her company has donated for the silent auction.

Blueridge resident Michelle Wong, who owns Genesis Hair Salon in North Vancouver, displays some of the hair products that she has donated for our silent auction at Blueridge Good Neighbour Day!
