Blueridge Good Neighbour Day


This annual community celebration has happened every spring since 1998 (with the exception of 2020-2022 due to COVID). A dedicated team of volunteers has worked hard to create a fun-filled day for the whole family. The event is open to the general public and is a great place to catch up with friends and neighbours.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Festivities kick off with a parade from the top of Berkley (at Hyannis Drive), ending at Blueridge Elementary School. Families are encouraged to decorate their bikes, scooters, tricycles, or strollers and be a part of the parade.
Most activities are free and made possible by our generous donors and a silent auction (cash and credit cards accepted). Proceeds from the silent auction help us cover the costs of the whole event.

- Live music
- Food trucks
- Inflatables: bouncy castles and slides, Wipe Out
- Kid’s carnival (including crafts and games)
- Community tables – learn about local programs, services and initiatives
- Cake Walk
- Pie Eating Contest

- Beer Garden
Calling All Artists for Blueridge Good Neighbour Day!
Would you like to participate in our first Blueridge Good Neighbour Day Art Fundraiser? We’d love to showcase your work in our first BGND Anonymous Art Show! All skill levels are welcome (beginner, emerging and experienced).
You are able to submit up to three 8 x 8 pieces to be displayed online and at BGND on May 31, 2026.

The details:
- All participating artists will need to self-purchase 8 x 8 canvases to use (can be purchased from Michaels etc.). We ask for 8 x 8 to keep the sizes consistent.
- You can submit up to three pieces per artist
- Any medium can be used (oil, acrylic, mixed media etc.)
- This is a community event so all subject matter will need to be family friendly
- All artworks are to be sold for $80 on the art auction site and split ($60 for the artist/ $20 to help fund BGND)
- Artwork will be displayed at the school on tables with their titles and a QR code linking to the auction site.
- Submit quality photos of your work to commoner.art.bc@gmail.com by May 22 so we can add them to the auction site giving buyers a preview of your work prior to sale
- Drop-off deadline- May 29th
- Drop-off location- 2321 Berkley Ave (text Shannon at 778.231.0186 to arrange time)
- You will need to provide titles of your artwork at drop-off.
- You will need to include your info at the back of your artwork (and not sign the front- we need to keep you anonymous!)
