It’s called hyperphagia – they need to eat a LOT before they go into hibernation – and will be looking for anything with calories, including whatever is in your garbage cans.

Spirit Trail Eastern Extension – DNV Survey
Attention hikers, walkers, and bikers! The DNV wants to hear your opinions about the planned eastern extension of the Spirit Trail. Visit the link above to learn more about the trail, possible routes and answer a survey to share your opinions with decision makers. Survey available Sept 16 – Oct 6.
Get A Wildfire Home Hazard Assessment
This free service has DNV Fire & Rescue review your home for wildfire risks, and help you figure out how to reduce them. There is more information on the DNV website, or you can apply right away on the FireSmart website.

The Future of Chlorine Production at Chemtrade
October 1: One last Chemtrade plant tour remains available this year, on Oct 9.
North Shore Wastewater Plant
September 28: West Vancouver opting for a levy to cover wastewater plant cost overruns, which will allow residents to defer the costs in the same way they can defer property taxes.
Baden Park Construction
September 28: No traffic impacts are expected until mid-October.
UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) Clearing
September 27: A UXO was found during the ongoing clearing work on September 26 and safely disposed of with on December 27.

Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing and Blueridge
Current Status: DNV Council approved three units on every lot in the District: main dwelling, secondary suite, and a coach house. We believe that District staff are reviewing the rules around coach houses to make them practical on more lots, but we have no timeframe for those changes yet.
