If you’re a gardener and might want to rent a box in the Blueridge Sharing Garden, now is the time to start thinking about that. We have more information here, along with the rules and the garden box rental agreement. Your application needs to be submitted by March 6th. Happy gardening!

DNV 2026-2030 Draft Financial Plan Introduced; Public comment open through March 2

February 24: Chemtrade Rezoning Public Hearing

There is a public hearing at 7 pm at DNV Municipal Hall to allow the DNV Mayor and Council to gather public input on the rezoning of the Chemtrade facility at 100 Amherst Ave. If approved, this rezoning will let Chemtrade continue to produce chlorine gas at that location for the foreseeable future. In return, Chemtrade has indicated they will build extensive new safety systems to make their plant even safer than it currently is. We maintain a page discussing this rezoning request and documenting everything we know about it.

Mar 1 – Apr 30: Blueridge Scholarship Applications Accepted

The BCA will be accepting applications for the Eric Andersen BCA Scholarship starting on March 1 and continuing through April 30. Those interested in applying should review the full application criteria at the link, and get your application in during that window. Good luck!

Apr 24: Transforming School Zones in North & West Vancouver

Held in the gym at Canyon Heights Elementary, this free, interactive forum will feature insightful guest speakers, alongside collaborative discussion tables designed to foster dialogue and identify key issues, and an opportunity to directly connect with local officials. Presented by the North Shore Safety Council.

The Future of Chlorine Production at Chemtrade (Updated Feb 17, 2026) Chemtrade releases a new issue of their newsletter. Remember: there is a public hearing scheduled for February 24th at 7pm at DNV District Hall on the topic of Chemtrade’s zoning request to allow them to continue producing chlorine at their Amherst Avenue site.

Baden Park Construction (Updated Feb 5, 2026) No work is expected on the Parkway or Lytton Street at this time. There will be some over spring break and this summer. Details then.

Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing and Blueridge (Updated Jan 29, 2026) – The City of North Vancouver is responding to Bill 25 and adding more lots that SSMUH can be developed on. The DNV will be responding to Bill 25 in the coming weeks.

UXO (Unexploded Ordnance) Clearing (Updated Oct 17, 2025) The UXO search in the Blair Rifle Range has been extended until March 2026. More details are now available at the link, including a map showing the area and trails affected.
