Movie Night 2026

Around the beginning of 2026, an idea started brewing at the BCA: what if we hosted an outdoor movie night for our community? We pitched the concept to our neighbours across Blueridge and Seymour Heights, and the enthusiastic response made it clear we had to bring it to life. After months of planning, coordinating with vendors, and gathering volunteers, the moment finally arrived.

Despite a stormy forecast leading up to the weekend, the clouds parted just in time. On Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, the BCA hosted its first-ever Outdoor Movie Night at McCartney Creek Park featuring The Wild Robot.

It was a bit chillier than usual for a late August evening, but that didn’t stop our amazing neighbours. Over 150 residents from Blueridge and Seymour Heights gathered on the lawn bundled up in hoodies, wrapped in cozy blankets, and packed with snacks and warm drinks. The energy was fantastic, and watching the film together under the open sky made for an unforgettable evening.

Events like this only happen when our community comes together, and both Blueridge and Seymour Heights truly delivered. What made the night even more special was our volunteer response—we actually had more volunteers step up to help than we needed! That incredible neighbourly spirit is what makes our area such a special place to live and allows the BCA to create events that bring us all together.
