To get some historical perspective, the DNV has web pages listing previous election results and historic voter turnout. Some relevant numbers:

  • In 2026 there were 20,690 ballots cast, which was 28.7% of the 71,933 eligible voters.
  • In 2022 there were 15,032 ballots cast, which was 22.6% of the eligible voters.
  • That means there was a 6.1% increase in turnout in 2026.
  • For comparison, in the 2018 election, 22,656 ballots were cast by 36% of eligible voters.
  • Advance voting was popular in 2026, increasing from 2.94% of the eligible voters in 2022 to 6.17% of the eligible voters this year.

Municipal Election Information

Our next municipal election is coming on October 17, 2026. Local government has a lot of influence over our daily lives, and this is our opportunity to choose those who will represent us and make the many decisions that directly affect us, from housing density to local tax rates to filling pot holes. And yet these elections often have abysmal turnout. Don’t let that happen this time! Please vote on October 17th!

This municipal election is NOT the same as the provincial election on October 24th. Please vote in both elections!

The BCA is strictly nonpartisan, and we’ll never tell anyone who to vote for. But we strongly encourage voting, and this page is our guide to help you participate in the election.

We add information about candidates as it becomes available.

Municipal Election Voting Day: October 17

Our closest polling places are open 8 am to 8 pm:

Municipal Election Candidates for Office

To avoid any bias, candidates are ordered randomly. Every time you load this page their order will change.

DNV Council Candidates

School District 44 Trustee Candidates

If you need more information about School Trustee Candidates, there is an All Candidates meeting featuring them on October 14th. See above for more information.

Municipal Election All Candidates Meeting

The BCA co-hosts an All Candidates Meeting with a number of other organizations. It’s a chance to hear directly from the candidates and ask questions. The meeting was held on October 8th, and we have a full video of it available online here:
