Co-Lead, Blueridge Cares
We stepped up to lead Blueridge Cares because we love the holidays, and we want to make sure the season is special for absolutely everyone in our community.

Holiday Heart & Practical Problem Solving
What inspired you to lead the Blueridge Cares initiative? It really comes down to a love for Christmas. We wanted to take that holiday magic and make sure it reaches everyone in the neighbourhood who wants to be a part of it. Bringing people together to look out for one another during the holidays is what Blueridge Cares is all about.
What unique perspective or skill do you bring to the team? I’m a good problem solver, and I come with a pretty finely tuned “BS detector.” I like getting things done efficiently so our community programs can have the biggest impact possible.
What is your favourite memory of moving to Blueridge? Right as our moving van was pulling away after we arrived, a neighbour walked right over to introduce herself and her kids. She offered a playdate on the spot so we could unpack in peace. That immediate warmth stayed with me.
Satellites, Cycling & Local Spots
- The “Out of This World” Fun Fact: Here’s something the neighbourhood definitely doesn’t know: I have successfully launched two out of three satellites into space!
- The Ultimate Blueridge Experience: For the perfect local day, pack up some food and head down for a quiet picnic by the river.
- An Afternoon Off: You’ll usually find me out on my bike—mostly just trying to navigate the roads and avoid the occasional distracted driver!
Quick Hits
- One word to describe Blueridge: Home.
- Favorite BCA Initiative: Blueridge Cares, naturally!
- Outside of volunteering: I’m usually out riding my bike, reading, or working on my next project.
