After 20 years in Blueridge, I wanted to give back. My focus is on ensuring the BCA remains sustainable and strong for the next generation of residents.
Built for Longevity
What motivated you to join the BCA board? After living here for over two decades, I felt it was time to move from resident to contributor. I’m particularly passionate about succession planning—helping new board members find their footing and ensuring the BCA has the structure it needs to thrive long into the future.
How does your professional background help the board? My career was in financial services, which gave me extensive experience working with non-profits and volunteer boards across the North Shore and the Downtown Eastside. I enjoy using that “behind-the-scenes” knowledge to help improve how the BCA functions as an organization.
What is the heart of Blueridge to you? The local schools. Many of my favourite memories are from events held at Blueridge Elementary, including Blueridge Good Neighbour Day. The school is such an important focal point and asset for all of us.
The Local Perspective
- The “Bonus” Feature: One thing I love about Blueridge is the network of walking trails that connect our streets. It allows us to visit neighbours and get around without ever having to get in a car. It’s a huge part of what makes the neighbourhood feel connected.
- The Perfect Afternoon: You’ll find me enjoying a hike or a walk on our local trails with neighbourhood friends. We are incredibly fortunate to have this network right on our doorstep.
- Fun Fact: I’m North Shore born and raised! I’ve spent my life enjoying the outdoors here, from skiing and biking to hiking.
Quick Hits
- One word to describe Blueridge: Peaceful.
- Favourite BCA Event: Blueridge Good Neighbour Day—it perfectly showcases our community spirit.
- Outside the BCA: I’m usually walking, enjoying the outdoors, or working on ways to make our community run more smoothly.
