Building Community, Near and Far

I love the sense of belonging and safety that community creates. I wanted to contribute to the BCA to help bring those feelings to life in a meaningful way.

In addition to being one of our co-chairs, Toby spends time working on our social media efforts.

Professional Passion, Personal Roots

What brought you to the BCA board? Professionally, I’ve spent nearly 20 years building community through organizations like the David Suzuki Foundation, Eclipse Awards, and the Strathcona BIA. I wanted to take that experience and share it on a personal level, right here in the neighbourhood where I’m raising my kids and living alongside friends.

What makes Blueridge special to you? It’s a place where people truly know and look out for one another. People who live here spend their time here, and they are proud to call it home.

What is your favourite neighbourhood memory? I always enjoy the Blueridge Parades and Blueridge Good Neighbour Days (BGND). Seeing families out, laughing, and smiling together always warms my heart.

Local Life

  • Finding the Quiet: I grew up around here, so on an afternoon off, you’ll most likely find me exploring the local trails and walking along the Seymour River.
  • Creative Outlets: When I’m not working or volunteering, I’m usually gardening, playing guitar, or in the kitchen—I really enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes!
  • Blueridge in a Word: Home.
