Blueridge Good Neighbour Day 2015
Phew! The dust has just settled on BGND2015. What a success. A wonderful day and a HUGE thank you to the hard-working volunteers – all of you. And the amazing sponsors who allowed us to make so many of the activities FREE. We would love to hear your feedback from the day. See the photos below.
Congratulations to the winners of various draws and contest who were:
Meat Draw ($125 package of organic, free range, Two Rivers Meats): Rob G (who very kindly purchased $10 worth of tickets from super-volunteer Nancy C.)
The Jelly Bean Count (faithfully hosted every year by Ann Ellis) winner was a local Blueridge student named Ava.
Brian Rybchinsky (Virani Real Estate Advisors)
Rachelle W. won a bottle of Nota Bene wine
James M. won a bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape
Chris O. won a night at the movies
Kenda D. and Cissy M. won gift certificates to Starbucks
Did you know that this year, for the first time ever, Blueridge Good Neighbour Day was a Zero Waste Event? The BGND organizing committee hired Green Chair Recycling to coordinate all of the recycling and waste removal from the event. Many thanks to Dagmar for spearheading this initiative. Here is the final report from Green Chair Recycling – a team of 4 staff and 10 volunteers managed to divert 103 kg of material from the waste stream.
Thank you to Tammy Sharp for taking these amazing photos at Blueridge Good Neighbour Day 2015.
