From MetroVancouver, May 11, 2017.
To ensure the network of trails in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve (LSCR) continue to be safe and accessible for recreational users, Metro Vancouver is undertaking work associated with the project known as the Seymour River Canyon Trail Connections.
Metro Vancouver began pre-construction activities for this project in March. Environmental and geotechnical assessment work is now complete. Crews will begin to prepare the site (Twin Bridge location) for the next phase of the project in the coming weeks. Trees must be removed from the project area to construct the new suspension bridge at the Twin Bridge location, and to ensure ongoing safety for recreational users. To avoid impacts to potential nesting birds, a survey will be undertaken just prior to tree clearing. Work is scheduled in May 2017 and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
Hours of work will be from 7 am to 5 pm.
Noise from equipment such as chainsaws will be associated with this activity. All noise will comply with the District of North Vancouver’s noise bylaw.
Metro Vancouver is committed to providing details of the proposed designs and potential impacts to the community before the start of project construction. A more detailed description of the project will be provided in the coming weeks.
