Harvest Update – by Joanne Bengert
So far this growing season our harvest has gone to the Parkgate Senior’s Lunch Program, North Shore Neigbourhood House Saturday Lunch (sponsored by Highlands United Church), and a recovery centre run by the Lookout Emergency Aid Society.
Along with the seniors, the Parkgate program has been thoughtful enough to share the bounty with the preschool kids, the youth centre and the after school programs who have made marinara sauce and salsa with our tomatoes.
The NSNH Saturday Lunch feeds between 40-50 people in need and our tomatoes have been packaged so folks can take some home with them.
Our work is getting out there into the community. Great job everyone!
