>> Cool Neighbourhoods is now booking thermal imaging visits for homeowners in the District of North Vancouver. Thermal imaging provides an excellent overview of the key areas of heat loss and drafts in your home. The service will highlight gaps in your insulation, drafts around windows and doors, and give you a basic understanding of the energy efficiency of your home.

Thermal imaging is conducted by the Fire & Rescue Services Department (a firefighter will come to your house!!), who will also look for basic fire safety issues such as the status of smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. For more information, or to book an appointment please click here.

>> Let’s Talk Compost: Are you interested in composting food and yard waste in your back yard? Did you know that it is a safe and effective way to generate organic mulch for your garden? Did you know that it is OK to compost in ‘bear country’. To find out more about composting, or to book an appointment with a personal “compost coach” who will give you an in-yard consultation, please go to http://www.northshorerecycling.ca/composting/feed-your-food
