>>>Jan 14 2014 BCA Meeting AGENDA. The next Blueridge Community Association meeting is on Tuesday January 14th at 7:00 pm in the library of the Blueridge Elementary School . All are welcome to attend. The guest speakers will be Gavin Joyce and Susan Rogers of the District of North Vancouver (DNV). They will be presenting the DNV’s “Street Trees” program. Did you know that resident surveys show that one of the major reasons people move to the North Shore is the TREES? It’s true – we have a lot more native trees in Blueridge than similar neighbourhoods in Burnaby or Vancouver.
The Seymour Salmonid Enhancement Society Nov/Dec Newsletter is now available on-line. The Society is responsible for maintaining the fish populations in the Seymour River. If you have an interest in fish/fishing/habitat restoration/the Seymour Watershed – then this newsletter is for you!
The Cool Neighbourhoods program is currently booking free thermal imaging appointments in the District of North Vancouver for January and February, and appointments are now available in the evenings at 6:30pm. Please contact Karly at firstname.lastname@example.org to book your FREE appointment. A trained volunteer (from North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services) will come to your home with a special thermal imaging device. The device will identify areas of heat loss in your home. They will also review the fire safety equipment in your home and make helpful suggestions to improve your fire safety plan.
Have you been stuck in traffic lately? Well, it would be difficult to find someone who hasn’t been impacted by the almost daily back ups on the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge. The District has taken notice, here is a message from the DNV Mayor posted in a recent edition of the North Shore News. traffic
